ESR is a simple, non-specific screening test utilized for monitoring the presence of inflammation in the body. ESR tubes contain tri-sodium citrate solution and are used for blood sedimentation analysis. Mixing recommendation: ESR tube should be gently inverted 180º Back and forth 8-10 times.
The tubes are specially used for determination of the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) by the Westergren'sMethod. Mixing ratio is 1 part citrate solution to 4 parts blood. ESR measurements refer to the Westergren method.

It contains a 3.8% (0.129mol/L) buffered sodium citrate solution. The mixing ratio is 1 part citrate solution to 4 parts blood. Used for the collection and transport of venous blood for Erythrocyte and anticoagulation sedimentation rate testing.
